Since the late 90’s, Nissan has been experimenting with lithium ion batteries and its use as a power source for electric cars. Their latest entry, the Nissan Leaf, is scheduled to hit showrooms by the end of this year. The car is 100% electric powered which means there are no emissions.

Reaching speeds of up to 90 mph, the Nissan Leaf seats 5 passengers and comes equipped with advanced airbags, an audio system, and Nissan’s navigation system.

With regard to charging convenience, Nissan is busy setting up a network of charging stations and is in the middle of forming partnerships with various government levels and communities to make charging their electric cars as easy as possible.
