Having the ability to restore your computer to a previous state is priceless. Windows’ System Restore feature works fine and is usually enough for most computer users. If you’re one of those people who who wish to have more control over system restore, here’s what you need.

Comodo System Restore is another free offering from Comodo that functions similarly to the default Windows System Restore feature with added features. One such feature is giving you access to restore points when Windows won’t start. Restore points or “snapshots” as the application calls it, records your entire system including registry, critical operating system files, and user created documents.

Aside from the option of scheduling regular snapshots, the restore options allow you to mount and browse snapshots to recover individual folders and files. Now that’s pretty slick. You can right click on any file to synchronize it with a snapshot version.

Comodo Time Machine runs on Windows Server 2008 and 2003, Windows XP SP2, Windows Vista, and Windows 7.
Don’t forget it’s totally free.
