When you want to share files with your friends on the Internet, you have a number of choices. You can send the the file through your instant messenger or upload the file to a free host and have your friends download it from there. If that isn’t easy enough for you, I’ve got a better solution.

HFS is a free file sharing program that lets you set up your personal file server on your computer without any hassle. The program is a single executable that doesn’t need to be installed. Easy right?

Let’s take a look:

Once you start HFS the main window opens

The next step is creating user accounts for your friends. After that, you can configure the server to your liking. Want to control the bandwidth? No problem, HFS gives you full control over all connections.

Don’t worry, you can customize the look of the page your friends will see.

The HFS site’s support page contains a detailed guide on setting up your file sharing server and a FAQ as well.

All major browsers are supported. The app runs on Windows and latest version of Wine.

How do legal movie streaming sites earn money ? I would think that it would be difficult to generate money from legal movie streaming sites .

Mostly from ads but it is quite difficult to generate money with those sites. You need a huge amount of traffic. Some sites have cpm ads that keep refreshing while you’re watching their video.
