With the release of Windows 7 just around the corner, most users of the Windows OS are eager to find out just what to expect with the final release version. Ed Bott over at ZDNet provides an early peek at Windows 7.

For more in-depth observations, check out Ed Bott’s article mentioned above. Let’s take a look at some of the screens Ed provided in his post.

The user interface seems to have a smoother feel compared to Vista and we’re sure that there are numerous improvements with regard to the OS performance itself. If you’re wondering about driver compatibility issues, take a look at Ed’s post.

If Windows 7 turns out to be just a fixed version of Vista, we’re pretty sure users would get it without hesitation. As it looks, Windows 7 is what should have been released instead of Vista.

Anyone who’s had a computer for a while will inevitably end up with hundreds of folders in different directories. After a while, you’ll find yourself wishing for an easy way to just bring all your files to the root folder. That’s exactly what this next app will do.

Suction is a free Windows app that will get rid of your unwanted folder trees and leave you with your files all in the root folder. Just drag the directory with all subfolders into the program and it will get rid of the folder tree while bringing your files to the root directory. Think of your images folder or videos folder.

No frills but simple enough to use and a small executable. Always a good deal.

Suction works with Windows XP. Vista, and Windows 2000. Requires .NET
